Greetings

I used to do a huge yard haunt but sold it to my partner years ago. I am getting back into this hobby again and have tons of things I would like to build. I have a list of items I think I should start with and then slowly build up to the larger items such as structures. After reviewing the list I am thinking the first thing I really should build isnt haunt related at all. I am thinking I should build myself a nice storage building in my backyard and then progress with the yard haunt. This will cut into how long it will take to build back up again but I am thinking in the long run this would be the way to go. Any thoughts?

Thanks
MM
For years I've been able to store all my stuff in several large boxes that sat on shelves in my garage. I don't have large props, but I do have a lot of black plastic and fabrics. My inventory expanded quite a lot this year with new additions, but I should be able to get it all into another box. Except for the 40' of new graveyard fencing...

You could put on a nice haunt this year with new equipment, then use the rest of the year to build your storage shed. I'd hate to miss out on a Halloween since it's only once a year. Smile
Actually I have a small shack for a witch character and an FCG and some fog machines. I was just thinking I should build a nice storage building before going any further.
A storage shed is always a good idea; particularly if you have life-sized prop figures that you need to store for the rest of the year. Helps keep your Halloween prop collection from consuming all the space in your garage.

The time spent building a shed now might take away from your haunt setup time though.
I think its a great idea to have a storage shed. In fact, you've reminded me of the idea my hubby and I had last year that I'd forgotten all about, to buy one of those ready-made storage sheds from a place like Home Depot and put it behind the house. I need to look into that asap, I think! Smile

But, I'd hate for you to miss out on doing the actual Halloween decorating just because you don't have a place to store it afterward! lol I'd say keep your current amount of storage space in mind, decorate as much as you can, and then invest in the storage shed after the season is over and you've had the fun. Smile
I do have some decorations up and I am construction a few more but beyond that I will need extra storage to expand. Maybe next year will be better and I can start the storage building.
