My 10 yr old daughter is going to a sock hop halloween day at school, I guess thats the schools way of letting them dress up without actually acknowledging that its halloween. Anyway, I have a poodle skirt and scarf what else should she have?
a nice pink handbag and shirt to match! That's really it ecept her hair should be up in a bun
or the hair poofed up if she has short hair. (like the housewifes of the day)
Hope she has a blast. My daughter's school is having a dance on halloween as well. The kids all love it at her school.
a handbag is a great idea, I also thought maybe some cat eye glasses. Heres what we have so far, the skirts a lil long as is the scarf but so far so good. She got a lil excited with the red lip stick but being a 10 yr old whos never worn any I guess thats to be expected LOL

OMG! She looks adorable!! Smile

The only other thing I was going to suggest would have been saddle shoes, the kinds that are black and white. But, those slippers she's wearing should be just fine!!

She looks great! I hope she has a blast at the dance! Smile
Thank you Mordessa, I tried to find those black and white shoes, saddle oxfords we called them, but couldnt find any. This is her first yr at the middle school sock hop so she's really excited about it.
Oh she looks perfect just like that! Like she just stepped out of "Grease"! She can always take the scarf off her neck & tie it in her ponytail if she gets too hot with it around her neck. Hey- that's a good idea...maybe put the scarf around her ponytail and give her a fake set of pearls (not the long ones, but a set that hits at her collarbone)? Those shoes are perfect to dance in!)
My daughter is 10, too, and her school is too liberal to have an actual DANCE on Halloween...oops, I mean "Character Day" (snort of derision). A dance would make the day too special...you know, like the school would be admitting that it actually is Halloween and really IS a special day or something.

Thanks Debbie, We have 'character day' at the elementary school and then they move up to a sock hop at the middle school. Of course those parties have noooooothing to do with Halloween, but for some reason the parties ALWAYS fall on Oct 31st.
Wow Newbie your daughter is precious.. and that outfit is perfect. I hope she has fun at the dance....

I was shocked...my sons school actually had a haunted house this year. It's a first and he's in the 8th grade. The school charged $3 to get in. My son said he had fun....they had a large spider with lots of webs, a grim reaper , fog machines, Freddy Kruger and lots of Zombies in the haunt.. They didn't have a dance or anything it was just the haunt... I thought that was great that they did that..
